Here is more on the work behind the photos above, grouped by the kind of repair. We have left out names, addresses, and dates — each description covers what changed and why that kind of repair matters for homes in Southwest Florida.

Doors & entryways

Doors are the repair we get called for most. Between humidity that swells wood, salt air that corrodes hardware, and daily sun on west- and south-facing entries, a door that worked fine at closing often binds, drops, or stops sealing within a few years. These projects run from full slab replacements to adding a handrail. More on our door repair and installation work.

Front door replacement. The original entry was a weathered slab with a cracked sidelight. We hung a white six-panel door with an intact glass sidelight and fitted new hardware. A front door that no longer seals lets conditioned air out and humidity in, so the weatherstripping and threshold matter as much as the door itself.

Barn door installation. A standard swing French door was replaced with a black-framed frosted-glass barn door on a wall-mounted sliding track. Sliding hardware frees up the floor space a hinged door needs to swing, which helps in tight hallways and small rooms.

Storm door replacement. An old scrollwork screen door was swapped for a full-view glass storm door. A storm door adds a second sealed barrier at the entry and lets you open the main door for light without losing the air conditioning.

Handrail installation. The paver entry steps had no handrail on either side. We installed white aluminum rails on both sides, anchored into the step. Aluminum handles the humidity here without the rust or rot that steel and wood bring.

Exterior door replacement. A beige exterior door with a worn bottom edge and weathered face was replaced with a new white six-panel door, and the surrounding trim and hardware went with it. The bottom edge is usually the first part of an exterior door to fail here, from splash-back and standing water during the rainy season.

Storm & exterior

Exterior wood and panel work takes the brunt of the weather. Fascia, soffit, walkways, and deck framing all sit in the path of roof runoff, rainy-season standing water, and wind-driven rain, and they tend to fail from the back side where you cannot see it. Deck walkway replacement. A rotted wood walkway was torn out and rebuilt in pressure-treated lumber with new boards throughout. Ground-level walkways in this climate hold moisture against the wood year-round, so the framing gets checked, not just the surface boards.

Fascia board repair. A cracked, rotted section of fascia at the roofline was cut out, replaced, and sealed to a clean finish. Fascia takes the runoff from the roof edge, and once it opens up it lets water and pests behind the gutter line.

Lanai soffit & ceiling repair. Storm damage had left the lanai soffit with missing panels and exposed framing. We replaced the panels, closed the ceiling back up, and reinstalled the ceiling fan. Open soffit is an entry point for wind-driven rain and wildlife, so it is worth closing before the next season.

Interior & trim

Inside, most of what we do is drywall, ceilings, and trim — accent walls, crown molding, new partition walls, and ceiling repairs after a leak from above. Matching an existing texture, profile, or finish so the repair disappears is the part that takes the time. More on drywall repair and general home repairs.

Accent wall installation. A plain painted dining-room wall became a wood-slat accent wall. The slats are furred off the drywall and run floor to ceiling; the work is in keeping the spacing consistent and the verticals true across the whole wall.

Drop ceiling tile repair. Sagging, water-stained tiles were pulled and replaced and the grid was re-leveled. Stained drop-ceiling tiles usually point to a past leak above, so the cavity gets a look before new tile goes in.

Crown molding repair. A damaged run of crown molding on an ornate tray ceiling was rebuilt and blended into the existing decorative faux finish so the repair does not read as a patch. Matching an existing profile and finish is the hard part of trim repair.

New wall & separated spaces. An open room was divided with a new framed wall and a doorway, and crown molding and baseboard were run to match the rest of the space. The existing recessed lighting and ceiling fan stayed in place.

Kitchen & utility

Kitchen and laundry projects usually combine a few trades at once — a sink swap touches plumbing and cabinetry, and adding storage means finding blocking in the wall. See our minor plumbing repair services.

Kitchen sink & faucet upgrade. An old double-bowl porcelain sink and basic faucet were replaced with a stainless single-bowl workstation sink and a pull-down faucet. Going from a double bowl to a single usually means adjusting the drain and supply lines to line up with the new basin.

Laundry room closet doors & cabinets. A bare laundry room got mirrored sliding closet doors and a run of upper storage cabinets above the washer and dryer. Cabinets hung over an appliance pair need solid blocking in the wall to carry the load.
